Report – Two options Barcelona are exploring for the left-wing position
Barcelona’s summer planning is starting to focus heavily on the wide areas, with the club actively searching for a solution on the left flank.
As reported by Matteo Moretto, two main profiles have now emerged as key options, while the future of Marcus Rashford remains uncertain.
Rashford’s situation is central to Barcelona’s thinking, as the forward is open to continuing at the club, but the financial terms are proving to be a problem.
Barcelona are not fully convinced about paying the €30 million fee required to secure him permanently, especially given their current wage structure concerns.
Because of this, Barcelona are exploring alternatives that better fit their long-term strategy.
As per the journalist, Barcelona want a player who can operate across both wings, offer tactical flexibility, and come with a lower salary than Rashford.
Even if the transfer fee is slightly higher, the club see it as a smarter investment over time.

Interestingly, one of the options plays in the Premier League. Although the journalist did not explicitly mention any names, he did say that it ‘is a name that we have heard a lot of times.’
In that context, Joao Pedro has recently been linked with the club.
While he is not a traditional winger, his ability to move across the front line and adapt to different roles makes him an attractive option for Barcelona’s system.
Notably, the other option is based in Spain. Again, no names have been mentioned, but we must keep in mind that Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Ez Abde and Jan Virgili.
Both players are familiar with the club’s style and offer more natural width, which could help balance the attack. Their understanding of La Liga is also seen as a positive factor.
There is also Victor Munoz, but that deal is complicated due to links with Real Madrid, making it less likely at this stage.
