Reports suggest Serge Gnabry’s injury will sideline attacker through 2026 World Cup
Sport Bild reports that Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry’s injury is sufficiently serious to sideline the 30-year-old through the World Cup. Yesterday, the German record champions revealed that Gnabry incurred an adductor injury during Wednesday’s Champions League victory. The severity of Gnabry’s thigh issues have not yet officially been confirmed by the Bundesliga outfit.
The German tabloid nevertheless claims that Gnabry has suffered an adductor tear that will keep him out of action for three months. This translates to the end of the season and the World Cup for the resurgent German international. Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann finds himself in need of another player to fill the No. 10 slot in his 4-2-3-1 formation.
Despite the fact that the 23-year-old did not feature under Nagelsmann during the recent March international break, Musiala has declared himself fit and ready travel to the United States to participate in the tournament.
Nagelsmann himself – as quoted in the Sport Bild article – has stated that “all players, including Jamal, must be 100 percent fit” in order to earn nomination for his preliminary squad to be released on May 12th.
Serge Gnabry is expected to be sidelined for three months, missing the rest of the season and the 2026 World Cup.
