Kicker reports that Hoffenheim have agreed to a contract extension with Turkish centre-back Ozan Kabak. The former Liverpool and Norwich City professional had been in negotiations with his current Bundesliga outfit for quite some time. Kabak recently returned from a long spell on the sidelines which saw him sit out the entire 2024/25 Bundesliga season,
After making six league and cup substitute appearances earlier this autumn, Kabak earned his first Bundesliga start on December 13th, 2025. The now 26-year-old scored a goal in Hoffenheim’s 4-1 victory over Hamburg. Back as a regular fixture in Christian Ilzer’s starting XI, Kabak has continued to contribute with three more Bundesliga goals in the current 2026 calendar year.
Kabak has managed to double his estimated market value up from €5m to €10m in the March Transfermarkt update. The 28-times-capped international also returned to the Turkish national team last month. Thanks to the fact that Turkey prevailed in the World Cup playoffs, Kabak is due to participate in this summer’s coming World Championship along with Hoffenheim colleagues Fisnik Asllani and Albian Hajdari.
Kicker claims that the Kraichgau-based Bundesliga club have convinced Kabak to extend his expiring contract until 2030. The defender still maintains options for a different career path via a €25m exit clause. At his peak during his time representing Schalke in October 2020, Kabak was valued as a €32m player. The highest value Kabak has attained at Hoffenheim – who purchased him for €7m in the summer of 2022 – is €13m in December of 2023.
