Mike Perry used to be the top dog at BKFC.
The Conor McGregor swooped in with his deep pockets and stole the limelight from âPlatinumâ with his âNotoriousâ antics. In fact, their rivalry became so intense that McGregor once tried to fire Perry for getting his butt whooped by Jake Paul.
Sounds like Perry got the last laugh.
Thatâs because the former UFC welterweight managed to snatch Nate Diaz from Connieâs clutches; though to be fair, he had a little help from the Stockton slugger. Either way, Perry and Diaz are set to collide on the upcoming MVP MMA card next month on Netflix.
Mike Perry's fight with Nate Diaz is viewed as payback against Conor McGregor, who previously overshadowed him in BKFC.
The rivalry escalated when McGregor, as a BKFC part-owner, stole the spotlight from Perry and even attempted to fire him after a loss.
Conor McGregor's involvement in BKFC and his antics significantly shifted attention away from Perry, leading to tensions between the two fighters.

âIt feels great; I kind of snatched that one from under McGregor,â Perry told reporters during the MVP press conference scrum on Wednesday (via MMA Junkie). âIâve been over there at bareknuckle getting all the fights while heâs been talking on the sidelines, not fighting anybody, trying to piggyback off my hard work. So the fact that I took out the trilogy. Nate didnât want to fight a dangerous weakling like McGregor. He said heâs on one f*cking leg. He said heâs either out of the door or heâs going to revitalize his career by stepping back in there and beating on somebody. Iâm not worried about that. Iâm looking to beat Nate and then get all the opportunities that come with that.â
Including the one opportunity that may matter most.
âI think he maybe knows heâs in trouble,â Perry said about Diaz. âHeâs getting older. Heâs had a long road in this game, as have I. With my youngness â you know, Iâm a lot of years younger than him â my strength and power, my aggressive style. To bring that to him, he knows Iâm coming at him. To get the opportunity to face a Nathan Diaz before he decides to leave the game, Iâm going to give the fans the fight they want.â
