Fabio Quartararoās recent comments about Yamaha havenāt gone unnoticed, and Ricard Jove believes his next team, Honda, wonāt be too pleased either.
It was revealed earlier in the year that Quartararo plans to move to Honda once his current deal with Yamaha runs out. While thereās still no official announcement, the hold-up seems to be linked to ongoing discussions about commercial terms between teams and the championship beyond 2027.
Quartararo hasnāt hidden his frustration with Yamaha, a team he once took to a world title in 2021. Heās been winless since mid-2022, and even their recent engine changeāfrom an inline four to a V4āhasnāt helped them climb off the bottom of the grid yet.

Though the deal has yet to be confirmed, Jove is convinced itās already in place. He also believes that some of Quartararoās recent remarks havenāt been well received by either his current team or those heās expected to join.
After finishing 14th in the Spanish Grand Prix, Quartararo spoke openly about losing his passion for racing and not enjoying himself on the bike anymore.
Before that, he had said Yamaha didnāt know how to solve their issues. The team responded by canceling rider debriefs following the first race in Thailand, worried about further damage to their reputation.
Lorenzo isnāt alone in that view. Speaking on social media, Jove also advised Quartararo to be more mindful of his comments.
He mentioned that rider contracts often include clauses against behaviour deemed harmful to a teamās image and that these rules apply equally to everyone involved.

Fabio Quartararo reportedly backed out of Aprilia move after letter of intent
In a separate post on X, Jove revealed that Quartararo had signed a āletter of intentā with Aprilia for 2027 before deciding not to go through with it.
Ahead of Jorge Martinās expected arrival at Yamaha to replace him, Aprilia chose Francesco Bagnaia from Ducati instead. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi has extended his contract to stay on the other side of the garage.
This choice led him away from other offers in favour of remaining loyal at first. Now into his sixth season there, though tensions have risen since they last provided him with a competitive bike two years ago.
