Ricken responds to Woltemade-Guirassy transfer speculation at Dortmund
Bild recently reported that Borussia Dortmund are considering bringing Nick Woltemade from Newcastle United should Serhou Guirassy leave the Bundesliga club in the summer.
But when Sport Bild asked about a potential one-year loan for Woltemade, Borussia Dortmund sporting managing director Lars Ricken was quick to dismiss the report.
âThatâs the first Iâve heard of it. No truth to it,â Ricken said, adding that Dortmund are âexcellently positionedâ up front with Serhou Guirassy and FĂĄbio Silva.
Although Guirassy is said to have a âŹ35 million release clause that applies to certain top clubs this summer, Ricken remains optimistic he will stay.
âWe hear every transfer window that he might leave â and heâs still here," he said.
"Itâs my wish and the wish of [sporting director] Ole [Book] and [head coach] Niko Kovac that Serhou remains with us this summer. He feels extremely comfortable at the club, and there is no intention to let him go.â
