Duron Sutton has been hired as the new head coach for Germantown High School football, replacing Gene Robinson. Sutton previously coached Ridgeway for 16 years, while assistant Jeremy Stewart has been promoted to head coach at Ridgeway.

Duron Sutton, Ridgeway's coach for the past 16 years, has taken the same position at Germantown High School, replacing Gene Robinson. Ridgeway athletic director Rhonda Kendall confirmed the news on May 14 and shared that assistant Jeremy Stewart has been promoted to head coach.
It is unclear what the nature of Robinson's departure is, as neither he nor the Germantown administrators could be reached for comment before publication. Robinson, who was hired at Germantown from Fairley in 2020, was 44-16 across five seasons with the Red Devils (Germantown did not play during the COVID-impacted 2020 season), most recently leading a 7-4 season which ended with an exit in the first round of the TSSAA Class 6A playoffs last Novemvber.

Sutton, who led the Roadrunners to a 92-86 record across his 16 seasons, has a connection at Germantown with principal Jonathan Stencel, who previously held the same role at Ridgeway. Sutton's team was 1-9 during the 2025 season. He will kick off the 2026 season at Germantown with an Aug. 21 trip to rival Houston.
