The Boston Red Sox now have a third prospect in MLB's top-100 rankings.
MLB added Anthony Eyanson to the list at No. 97 after Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Andrew Painter lost prospect eligibility. The 21-year-old pitcher joins Franklin Arias (No. 21) and Kyson Witherspoon (No. 67) as Boston's top-100 representatives.
Discussing Eyanson's ascension Saturday on MLB Network, MLB Pipeline scout Sam Dykstra compared the right-hander's rapid climb to another Red Sox pitcher who graduated from prospect rankings.
"He's on that Payton Tolle path," Dykstra said.
Eyanson has turned heads with a dominant start to the 2026 campaign. The former LSU star earned a promotion to Double-A Portland by allowing one run in five starts at High-A Greenville.

He didn't look overmatched at the elevated level, yielding one run over four innings for the Sea Dogs on Sunday. Eyanson now has 38 strikeouts to just four walks across 24 1/3 frames this season.
Dykstra touted Eyanson's well-rounded arsenal, beyond a fastball that now touches the high 90s after a recent uptick in velocity.
"It's even more significant considering he has a plus-plus slider, a plus curveball," Dykstra said. "So those he can feather in, play off the heat. And even the splitter is acting like a plus pitch. It's a really full package so far for Anthony Eyanson."
Dykstra teased another imminent rise up the rankings for Eyanson.
"We're gonna be updating the top 100 in a few weeks when Konnor Griffin graduates," Dykstra said. "You can expect Anthony Eyanson to make a pretty healthy jump up that list."
