RJ Barrett will be eligible for a contract extension with the Toronto Raptors over the offseason.
If Barrett doesn't sign an extension, he'll enter the 2026-27 NBA season on an expiring contract and will become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
If Barrett gets his way, he'll sign an extension and eliminate any questions about his future, as Canadian native made it clear that he wants to remain a Raptor for the rest of his career.
“This is an easier question for me to answer because I’m from here, and who doesn’t want to play at home? So, of course, I’m trying to stay here,” Barrett said of his NBA future.
“I understand the business, but I want to stay here. I don’t have any problems saying that. I want to be here for the rest of my career. I don’t want to leave. I don’t have any problems openly saying that. I’ve done my part on the court this year, and I will continue to do my part, so let’s hope things work out that way.”
