Aaron Rodgers' 2026 decision was believed to be pretty simple: Pittsburgh Steelers or bust. But apparently, there's one more potential landing spot in the NFL as Rodgers continues to weigh his options.
According to CBS Sports' John Breech, the Arizona Cardinals have emerged as a "possible landing spot" based on their uncertainty at quarterback, their offensive weapons, and his connection to new Cardinals offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.
"At this point, their QB situation is still up in the air. Going into April, Jacoby Brissett appeared to have the inside track, but he's skipping the team's voluntary workouts because he wants to be paid like a starter. Instead of giving Brissett more money, the Cardinals could simply call Rodgers and offer that money to him," Breech wrote. "ā¦Now, here's where things get even more interesting. The Cardinals just hired a new offensive coordinator this year in Nathaniel Hackett, who just happens to be best friends with Rodgers. ⦠This team had the talent to compete; they just couldn't get over the hump last year. If the Cardinals were to give Rodgers a call, you'd have to think that he would listen."
The Cardinals may have immensely talented receiving options, but the Steelers also overhauled their offense this offseason, trading for 1,000-yard receiver Michael Pittman and drafting the versatile Germie Bernard in the second round.
While all signs still point toward the Steelers as front-runners in the race for Rodgers, the Cardinals are definitely an intriguing landing spot to keep an eye on moving forward.
