Roma is looking to enhance their squad for next season, focusing on their attacking department. They are reportedly close to signing Bosnian left-back Kerim Alajbegović.
Roma confident in Alajbegović signing
Roma are considering strengthening their squad for next season.
The attacking department will undoubtedly undergo the most changes, a priority for Gian Piero Gasperini.
The Friedkins have already opened the door to a first move: the one that would bring Bosnian left-back Kerim Alajbegović to the capital.
By the end of May, the 2005-born player will have resolved the issues surrounding his future, which will likely be in Serie A, with numerous clubs interested.
Inter, Napoli, and Milan are monitoring the situation, with the Giallorossi looking to beat the competition by making a major signing.
The advantage Alajbegović would have in wearing the Roma jersey is not to be underestimated: a starting spot in the coach’s starting eleven.
Additionally, former Roma player Miralem Pjanic is playing a role in the discussions.
Pjanic, the intermediary in the Alajbegović deal, has been active, so much so that a week ago he was in Rome with the father of the 2005-born player.
A visit to Trigoria, meetings, and the tour have been packed. One of the things that most intrigues the Bosnian winger is the coach, namely, the presence of Gian Piero Gasperini. The Grugliasco-born coach is renowned for developing many young players who have gone on to become stars on the international stage.
An offer of between €25 and €30 million will be needed to convince Bayer Leverkusen, Alajbegović’s owner, to sell the player.
The deal therefore remains difficult, but Roma feels it may be the right time to take a risk and ignite both their present and future with a single purchase.
