Roma to Try Again to Reunite with Inter Midfielder
Davide Frattesi is among the few Inter players who haven’t clicked with coach Christian Chivu, and he’ll likely be on the move in the summer, and Roma are expected to make another attempt to bring him back, Matteo Moretto reports (via Calciomercato).
The midfielder was hoping for a turnaround under a different manager. Instead, he has played even less than with Simone Inzaghi at the helm, and he’s been a lot less effective. He has collected 30 appearances, starting just 9 times. He’s been an afterthought in the last couple of months.
Roma will find more fertile ground this time, as Frattesi is a lot more expendable for Inter now. His price tag, which has always been the main problem, continues to decrease. He grew up in the Giallorossi academy but departed very early, joining Sassuolo as part of a swap deal in 2017. He could be roped into the Manu Koné talks.
The 26-year-old has also been linked to Juventus, Atletico Madrid and a pair of Premier League sides in the past. However, no suitor ever met his current side’s demands. He transferred for a €30M fee in 2024.
Davide Frattesi is likely leaving Inter Milan due to his lack of playing time and effectiveness under coach Christian Chivu.
Roma plans to make another attempt to sign Davide Frattesi, capitalizing on his decreasing price and expendability at Inter.
Davide Frattesi has made 30 appearances this season, starting only 9 times.

It’ll finally be time for him to leave if the Serie A leaders don’t get too stubborn with his price tag. It becomes a waste of resources and of a roster spot at some point. He’d be a quality replacement for Lorenzo Pellegrini and could easily thrive in a different system and team. If the Giallorossi cashed in on Koné, they’d pursue the richest offer before the end of June, but they could still devise a two-pronged operation timing-wise.
