Boston Red Sox outfielder and designated hitter Roman Anthony isnāt too concerned with his back injury.
Anthony has missed the last two games due to a back injury, but he doesnāt expect an IL stint. Instead, Anthony is hopeful he will return to the lineup on Friday when Boston goes on the road to play the Baltimore Orioles.
āIām not too worried about (my back),ā Anthony said, via MLB.com. āI got a little bit of perspective last year when I hurt my oblique and kind of knew then and there (it was serious). Right now, Iām in a good spot and I'll be ready to play in the next couple of days. I'll be back out there soon.ā
Anthony has gotten off to a slow start as heās hitting just .225 with one home run and five RBIs. He got injured during a swing, which he blames on the cold, but he said heās doing everything to get back into the lineup.
āWe've been taking care of it in the training room and Iām doing everything I can to kind of get back out there. Just a weird thing to happen on a swing,ā Anthony added.
If Anthony can return to the Red Sox lineup on Friday, it would be a big boost to the lineup, which has been struggling.
