Roma’s Manu Kone not unsellable, confirms Gian Piero Gasperini
Manu Kone has been one of the best midfielders in Serie A across the last two seasons. There is now a rising possibility of him departing at the end of the campaign.
There have been doubts that the Frenchman could be sold in the summer. This is mainly because of Financial Fairplay worries, with Roma looking to make key sales to earn capital gains by the end of June.
Failure to do that can land them in trouble, with Kone’s sale likely to help the Giallorossi quite a bit.
Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to the press ahead of Roma’s game against Parma. He was specifically asked about Kone and his future at the Italian capital.
He said – via CM: “Modern football, I think, no longer features unsellable players anywhere. Perhaps only in the top, top, top teams in the world. Let’s go back to the issue of fourth place, which always makes a difference financially. When faced with unmissable offers, everyone, except a very few, is available. But I don’t know if these unmissable offers are that common; they’re truly rare.”
Gasperini appeared resigned to losing Kone, if a good offer arrives, even if the Italian would ideally want to keep him beyond this season.
“There are many clear opportunities around. But as for him, he’s a strong player, and I’d like him to continue playing for Roma. Why would I say I’d like him to leave? No, I hope he continues. Then, if an unmissable offer were to arrive—I don’t know, perhaps one that would allow him to do other things—we’ll see. Last year was different, but that’s not the case for everyone.”
Roma is considering Manu Kone's sale due to Financial Fair Play concerns, which require the club to generate capital gains.
Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed that Manu Kone is not unsellable, indicating a potential for his departure.
Selling Manu Kone would significantly help Roma's finances by generating necessary capital gains to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

This is a clear sign that Gasperini might not have a say, if clubs do want Roma’s players. This might not just stand true for Kone but will also apply for the likes of Evan Ndicka and Mile Svilar too.
Kone has been an appealing target to Inter, with Newcastle United also mentioned as a suitor.
