Itâs been another difficult season for Chelsea both on and off the pitch, but the Blues do have a chance to salvage something from the campaign in Saturdayâs FA Cup final.
With Chelsea ninth in the league, winning the FA Cup represents their only real hope of playing any European football next season.
Lavia is coming to the end of his third season at Chelsea having joined from Southampton in the summer of 2023 in a deal said to be worth up to ÂŁ58m.
The 22-year-old has really struggled with injury, which has limited him to just 43 appearances, and heâs yet to complete a full 90 minutes.
Lavia has again suffered with injury this season, but has made 21 appearances in all competitions as he looks to put his issues behind him.
The Blues are winless in their last seven league games, and went on a run of five consecutive league defeats without scoring, which cost Liam Rosenior his job.
Chelseaâs players were accused of not caring and downing tools at points this season, something Lavia admitted was âtough to hear.â
âTo say we donât listen to it would be a lie,â he told The Standard.
