Rousey (12-2; 3 KOs, 9 submissions), a trailblazer for the sport, has not fought in close to a decade but will make a return to the cage on 16 May against fellow veteran Carano, under the banner of Jake Paulâs Most Valuable Promotions.
She used the press conference ahead of the event to add fuel to the fire of her feud with Harrison, who had taken aim at 39-year-old Rousey and branded her as âirrelevantâ at this stage of the game.
Erupting at the two-time Olympic gold medallist, who was due to defend her title against Amanda Nunes before being sidelined with a neck injury, Rousey said: âGina is so relevant that sheâs the whole reason the 145-pound division even exists. I am so relevant that the only reason she has a job at the UFC is because of me.

âKayla is so irrelevant that she couldnât even keep the 145-pound division around. Honestly, sheâs just sour because no matter what she does or what she accomplishes, she canât change the fact that she has the charisma of a wet towel and will always be in me and Ginaâs shadow.
âSo the next time she wants to talk s***, she should look down at her feet and consider who paved the road that sheâs walking on. Oh wait, she canât look down at her feet because sheâs too busy holding onto the belt in a neck brace.â

âHer and Hunter [Campbell] acting like her next upcoming fight is the biggest womenâs fight of all time,â Rousey continued, whose fight with Carano will be streamed on Netflix. âThen why is it being booked as a co-main for a menâs interim title fight?
âThe b**** isnât even bigger than Paddy âThe Baddyâ [Pimblett]. No offense to Paddy. Heâs got more potential than anybody in the UFC, and he should call me when his contract runs out.â
âIf she thinks that her fight is the biggest womenâs fight of all-time, why is she getting paid less now than I was 10 years ago? So riddle me this, b****, are you overvalued or are you overpaid?
âWhat really pisses me off more than anything else is how small she thinks. This is not just the biggest womenâs fight of all time; this is the biggest MMA fight of all time, itâs going to get the most views on the biggest platform on the card with the biggest stars, and it was assembled by and will be headlined by two women who dared to dream big.
âThis dream is going to bring more opportunities and greater revenue share to fighters than theyâve ever had before because this fight is bigger than just me and Gina. Itâs bigger than anybody on this stage. It represents an unstoppable force of change in this industry, spearheaded by the fighters themselves. You bet your f****** ass this is the biggest MMA fight of all time. Bar none.â

Rousey also hit back at suggestions from Harrison, a fellow judoka, that the UFC Hall of Famer was lying about her prowess in training.
Harrison said in March: âSheâs online telling this story about how, âYeah, I had a lot of pride so Iâd be out there for an hour with these girls and then finally a 90-kilo guy would take pity on me and come out and throw me.â Dude, that is literally a blatant f****** lie. Now youâre just making s*** up. That never happened.â
And Rousey, an Olympic bronze medallist in judo, did not hold back with her response.
â[Harrison] says that I lied about training in judo in Canada in 2006. Who the f**** are you to call me a liar?â Rousey said. âI was training there for five months. B***, you werenât even there.

âOver the last decade and a half of being a public figure, I have cultivated a reputation for being unabashedly truthful. This bitch just got here and was already caught in a lie.
âWhat did she say after she won the belt? âOh, Iâm never going to say anything bad about Ronda, she took care of me when I was broke in Japan, and she bought me groceries.â How about you shut the f*** up and eat your groceries?â
Harrison took to social media to issue her comeback to Rouseyâs rant, declaring that the perfect way to settle their differences would be in the cage.
âFIGHT ME DEN,â she posted on X.
