Ronda Rousey has addressed her ācomplicatedā history with Kayla Harrison, a story that goes back long before either of them stepped into the MMA cage.
The two first met on the Judo mats in 2005, and their paths have crossed in interesting ways ever since. Both found success in Judo before making the move to mixed martial arts, where they built reputations as elite fighters.
Despite the similarities in their backgrounds, thereās never been much warmth between them. That divide became clearer after Harrison publicly questioned Rouseyās decision to return for another fight.

Rousey hit back at Harrisonās comments in her own video, saying she doesnāt understand why Harrison would go after someone whoās been in her corner before.
āYou know, like just Iām trying to feed you. Stop biting my fāā hand. Like, Iām trying to help you out, man⦠But sheās kind of like my brat little sister in a way where Iām just like, donāt come for me. Okay? Mommaās working. Iām going to have to give you a learning if youāre going to want to fāā start some sā,ā Rousey said.
Harrison didnāt shy away from the challenge. When asked about Rouseyās words during a press conference for her upcoming fight, she said she wouldnāt mind being on the receiving end of that lesson.
If Most Valuable Promotions can keep putting together big cards like the one set for May 16th on Netflix, fighters across the board will stand to gain from it.
