McIlroy completed the career Grand Slam at Augusta National in 2025, after he won the Masters on his 17th attempt.
The 36-year-old Northern Irishman then successfully defended his title this year, and racked up his sixth major title in the process.

After so many years of chasing success at Augusta National, the Northern Irishman has clearly finally discovered the winning formula.
Rory McIlroy is being tipped to achieve future success at The Masters, with the golf course being such a perfect fit for his game.
Back in April, Fred Couples, the 1992 Masters champion, suggested that McIlroy could win five more times at Augusta National.

āHe really could win five more of these,ā Couples said.
During an appearance at the Laureus awards, McIlroy was asked whether he agrees with Couplesā prediction that he will win five Masters by the time heās finished playing.
āI can understand that point of view, but at the same time, thereās the strength and the depth of guys on tour and the people that are playing the Masters,ā McIlroy said.

*ā*Look at what happened at the Masters this year. I had a six-shot lead. I certainly didnāt play as well as I played the first two days over the weekend, but I didnāt play badly.
āAnd there are so many guys that are chasing and wanting a shot at the title. I understand Fred Couples saying āRoryās gonna win fiveā, but at the same time, itās easier said than done! And I know Iām going to have to play really good golf even if I want to win one more Masters.ā
McIlroy showed great humility with that response. However, deep down he will surely be confident in his chances of winning at least a couple more green jackets.
McIlroy was asked how he will approach playing The Masters now, having won two green jackets.
āI feel like I can approach the Masters with this sense of freedom and this sense of fun,ā the Northern Irishman admitted.
āAll it is now is, āhow many can I win?ā instead of, āI just really hope I win this thing onceā. Thereās certainly a different mindset going into it.ā
What a great position to be in.
The man from Holywood, Northern Ireland, has obviously reached the stage of his career where all that matters to him is cementing his legacy by winning more majors.
Rory McIlroy could easily win two or three more Masters titles by the time he hangs up his clubs.
However, it would take some doing for him to win five more times around Augusta National like Fred Couples predicted he could.
