Liam Roseniorâs time as Chelsea boss started well but is not starting to spiral negatively after a run of dreadful results.
After the defeat to Man City on Sunday, he was heard comparing himself to the Premier Leagueâs top manager, noting that even they had needed time to make their ideas work, and asking the same for himself.
If this sounds familiar, itâs because Graham Potter did the same thing just a few years ago, as you can see in the video embedded here:
These arenât the only managers to have made that comparison. The problem is that, like the infamous âvote of confidenceâ from the board, few (if any) managers have ever come back from the brink after making these comparisons.
The difference is that those coaches had a winning track record, and despite not wining anything early on, showed signs of progress in the team and connected with the players quite clearly from the start.
If thereâs one thing you want to do as a Chelsea manager itâs avoid comparisons with Graham Potter. Rosenior has walked right into this one.
