Saturday double-headers are officially a thing of the past in IPL 2026.
A total of 12 double-headers were built into the IPL 2026 schedule. Eight of these were played through April, split across Saturdays and Sundays.
But from May onward, the format shifts. Double-headers will now only appear on Sundays for the remainder of the league stage, with Saturdays returning to a single-match format.
There are no double-headers scheduled on Saturdays in May for IPL 2026 due to the league's scheduling decisions.

The first Saturday of May featured just one fixture, when Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians went head-to-head at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
In the second week, there is another mouthwatering clash with the Rajasthan Royals set to lock horns with Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.
The double-header games are usually scheduled on weekends, and mostly on Sundays.
