Oklahoma linebacker Owen Heinecke granted an extra year of eligibility for 2026 after court ruling.
Anabelle Ruffell from Wayne has been named the Section V Girls Athlete of the Week after receiving over 19,000 votes. She scored five goals and provided four assists in a recent lacrosse match against Jordan-Elbridge.
These are the Section V Athletes of the Week for March 23-29 presented by Faber Builders.
Wayne senior Anabelle Ruffell was voted Athlete of the Week.
Anabelle Ruffell received over 19,000 votes. The Wayne girls lacrosse senior finished with five goals and four assists in a win against Section IIIâs Jordan-Elbridge on Saturday. Ruffell also had six draw controls.
Landon Bordwell received over 1,000 votes. The Penfield senior shot an even par score of 36 at Midvale Country Club during a nine-hole golf match won by a point by the Patriots.
During the winter season, the polls launched on Mondays at democratandchronicle.com to determine the Athlete of the Week from the previous weekâs top performances. Your vote determined who was honored as Section Vâs best.
