Rumor Claims Suns Eyeing Bold Summer Trade for 2-Time All-Star To Pair With Devin Booker

Under owner Mat Ishbia, the Suns have shown a willingness to be bold to improve the team. Well, a new rumor suggests they could make a risky move this offseason to land an uber-talented player. According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Phoenix is emerging as an early favorite to make a summer trade for Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. The other team is believed to be the Sacramento Kings.

The Suns badly lacked a meaningful player-maker last season. It forced the top star into the role of not just being their top scorer, but also their top facilitator. Morant would certainly alleviate both the scoring and playmaking burden for Booker and could create a dangerous backcourt duo.

However, a potential trade comes with risk. Morant’s value is at an all-time low, which is good for the Suns. But it’s because of the off-court trouble he can cause, and serious injury woes the last few seasons. Many around the game feel he may not get back to the player he was because of his injury problems.
