Liverpool FC is reportedly the frontrunner to sign Bournemouth's Marcos Senesi, who will be a free agent this summer. Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested, but their pursuit appears less likely.

According to a report from The iPaper’s Northern Football Correspondent Mark Douglas, Liverpool FC is regarded as the most likely destination for the services of Bournemouth’s 28-year-old central defender Marcos Senesi, who will be a free agent in the summer.
Manchester United and Chelsea were also understood to be interested in the Argentinian’s services, but Senesi is said not to fit the age profile or type of defender United are seeking, with a move for Nottingham Forest’s Murillo more likely. Chelsea, on the other hand, is looking to add more physicality as they re-evaluate their inflated squad ahead of next season.
Senesi was thought to be likely to move to Italy earlier this year, but Juventus and Roma have reportedly declined to move for the player, making him likely to stay in England. Aston Villa, Everton, and Tottenham (if they don’t get relegated) are also interested in his services.
Should Liverpool land Senesi, they would finally get a left-footed centre-back option they have really lacked for a few seasons now, and the player is a very competent passer out of the backline to boot. The defender seems slightly older than what Liverpool would usually target, but I guess they won’t be too fussed about that for a free transfer and squad depth. He also played under Arne Slot at Feyenoord, though the matter of whether the latter will still be in charge next season is unknown to the public at the moment.
If the rumours of Konaté nearing a contract extension are true, Liverpool seem to be loading up on centre-backs. Does this mean they’re preparing to move to a back three for a certain Spaniard? Who knows, although I don’t believe Alonso is a staunch enough acolyte of a back three for that to be a possible obstacle to appointment. After the season we’ve had, having a surplus of centre-back options is probably going to be a good thing for next season.
Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Everton, and Tottenham are all interested in Marcos Senesi.
Liverpool is viewed as the most likely destination due to their current needs and Senesi's availability as a free agent.
Marcos Senesi will be a free agent this summer, as his contract with Bournemouth is set to expire.
