Ryan Reynolds is bringing the jokes as his Wrexham soccer club aims for a spot in the playoffs â and one in the Premier League.
âI think a defibrillator is the traditional fifth season gift? Would make sense for this show,â Reynolds, 49, who owns the club with Rob McElhenney, wrote on X on Tuesday, April 28, referencing his Welcome to Wrexham docuseries.
The soccer club heads into the final round of regular season games this weekend, according to the Associated Press.Â
With one match left, Wrexham is in sixth place; teams finishing third to sixth advance to the playoffs.
The clubâs drama on the field was on full display at a recent game in which Reynolds and wife Blake Lively attended.
The couple was seen cozying up and packing on the PDA during the Football Association Challenge Cup (FA Cup) match between Wrexham and Chelsea in Wales on Saturday, March 7.

In true Wrexham rollercoaster fashion, the team took an early lead before they lost to Chelsea, 4-2. Due to their loss, Wrexham was eliminated from the FA Cup.
Following the match, Lively, 38, shared a smiling photo of herself and Reynolds on the empty field. "What. A. Game," she wrote on her Instagram Stories post.
