Either Thompson is just so frustrated by how he's playing that he can't help but snap back a little at a question that he more easily could've deflected.
Or he's actually hurt but doesn't want to provide any more insight.
Either way, it's a bit worrisome for the Sabres. To get past Montreal, and potentially make an even longer run, they'll need Thompson to be a lot closer to his best than he is right now.
If he's being held down by an injury, that'll make it tough to reach his optimal performance level in time to help the Sabres keep this storybook season going.
