The New Orleans Saints had a busy 2026 NFL Draft, selecting a starter on Day 1 and holding eight picks across the first six rounds. They acquired additional picks through trades and compensatory selections.
It's been an eventful 2026 NFL Draft for the New Orleans Saints, who added a starter on the first day of the selection event before gearing up for Days 2 and 3. New Orleans went into the draft with eight picks in the first six rounds, including two picks in both Rounds 4 and 5. That's coming from a 2025 midseason trade with the Seattle Seahawks that brought back two picks in exchange for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed, as well as a compensatory pick for losing cornerback Paulson Adebo in free agency last year.

There was a lot of speculation about the Saints trading up in Round 1, but New Orleans stood pat and selected Tyson. He's a bigger, more physical compliment to Chris Olave who can get open with ease and make plays at every level of the field. The question is whether he can stay healthy. Tyson missed multiple games in each of his four years of college due to knee, collarbone, and hamstring injuries. While the Saints did a great job cutting down on soft tissue injuries last season, proving they can keep Tyson on the field would go a long way to building confidence in their training staff.
