The New Orleans Saints met with standout wide receiver Westin Bruce at the Central Arkansas pro day. Bruce had a breakout 2025 season with 51 receptions for 1,109 yards and 11 touchdowns, showcasing impressive performance metrics.
Over the course of the last few years, the New Orleans Saints have done well to find productive talent from all over the nation, including Division 2 and 3 football. A notable example from relatively recent memory is Deonte Harty out of Assumption College, who became a productive member of the team, as did FCS wideout Rashid Shaheed, though not a lower division, certainly a smaller school by NFL standards.
A potential name to add to their history of productive players from lesser-known college programs is wide receiver Westin Bruce, a member of Hendrix College, who had the opportunity to work out at the Central Arkansas pro day recently. At the event, the Saints and New York Giants both spoke with Bruce, who had an immensely productive 2025 season.
2025 was the large-scale breakout that had been building for Bruce, as in 10 games, he posted 51 receptions for 1,109 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, with a 96-yard reception to his name. This is an absolutely insane average of 21.7 yards per reception, and 110.9 per game, showing just how impressive he truly was for Hendrix.
He was also showing flashes in 2024 in the receiving game as well, putting up 28 receptions for 507 yards (18.1 YPC) and 5 touchdowns. It was clear he was growing as a player rather rapidly, and this past season confirmed that as he looked a step above the competition.
With the Saints desperately needing some wide receiver additions this spring, Bruce could be an extremely fun option to look at during Day 3 of the draft, especially if he tested out well at the Central Arkansas pro day.
