Key points
- New Orleans Saints signed Oscar Delp
- Contract projected at $7.2 million for four years

The New Orleans Saints completed their rookie class by signing two Georgia Bulldogs. They agreed to terms on a rookie deal with tight end Oscar Delp earlier in the week, the team announced.
Spotrac predicts the contract to be around $7.2 million for four years. Delp, who the Saints selected in the third-round of the 2026 NFL draft, will compete for a depth role with the Saints.
That was like his time at Georgia. Delp competed to be the heir to Brock Bowers once Bowers left for the NFL draft. Delp was the No. 1 tight end recruit in the class of 2022, and he earned plenty of opportunities, starting 10 or more games each season since 2023.
Unfortunately, Delp never broke out as Bowers did. He totaled just 854 yards and nine touchdowns on 70 receptions. He showed flashes of insane athleticism, but he couldn't find that form consistently, sometimes not getting the chances or targets.
As a result, some analysts are calling the pick a reach. However, the Saints could definitely get the best version of Delp. New Orleans has Juwan Johnson returning and just signed Noah Fant, but Delp isn't be in danger of losing his roster spot, so his first season could be a development year. Delp is also impactful as a blocker.
