Among 10 teams at the Carterville Invite, Unity finished in fourth place, just a half-point out of third. won the 1,600 meters for the Rockets in 4 minutes, 32.19 seconds, and won the 3,200 in 9:46.38. Fairbanks also teamed up with , and to win the 3,200-meter relay (8:44.87).
The host Eagles finished as the team runners-up in their Rantoul Invite, only behind Bloom Township. Monticello was just one placement point behind Rantoul in third, Clinton took fourth, Urbana was fifth and Prairie Central was sixth in the nine-team event. Event winners for the Eagles included in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.31 seconds, in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 11 1/4 inches, in the triple jump (40-3) and the 400-meter relay of , Gordon, and Mendoza-Chapple (44.56).
