Džeko has scored six goals before being sidelined with a shoulder injury since the end of March but Muslić has said he could return into the squad for the match against Dusseldorf.
There is also hope that Džeko, who was Bundesliga champion with Wolfsburg, twice Premier League winner with and also had terms at Roma and , will stay beyond summer if Schalke are promoted.
Schalke came back from two goals down to win 3-2, with Dejan Ljubicic scoring the decisive goal in the 83rd minute.
