The long wait is over.
The Colorado Avalanche will soon be back in action in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The best team in the NHL in the regular season cruised to a sweep in the first round of the playoffs against the Kings.
Now the Avs know their next opponent: The Minnesota Wild.
The Wild finished a 4-2 series win over the Dallas Stars on April 30.
The Avalanche vs Wild second-round NHL playoff series will begin May 3 at 7 p.m. Mountain.
The Avs will have home ice advantage, meaning Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 (Games 5 and 7 if necessary) of the seven-game series will be at Ball Arena in Denver.
The league announced Game 1 day and time but has not set the schedule for the rest of the series yet.

This will be the fourth time these teams meet in the postseason. The Wild have won two of the first three matchups.
