He spent the 2020 season on the Niners practice squad, but has appeared in 75 games over the past five seasons for , including 25 starts over the past two years. He came up just short of a 1,000-yard season in 2024, catching 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns. His yardage numbers dropped off a bit this past season, as he hauled in 55 passes for 643 yards, but he found the end zone nine times. Jennings was seeking an extension following his 2024 season, but could not agree to a deal with the 49ers and called for the Niners to trade him, a call that John Lynch and company refused. On the surface, it would appear that Jennings would be a very solid complement to Jefferson and Addison as the Vikings’ third wide receiver. If the Vikings can figure out a financial package that will make him and his camp happy, the could fill that hole on the depth chart in a big way here. It’s also worth noting that we’re past the point where any free agents that are signed no longer count against the NFL’s compensatory pick formula, which I’m guessing is something that the Vikings were waiting for when it came to some of their roster decisions.
