Chestnut Ridge defeated Penns Valley 7-6 in a thrilling 9-inning game, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Richland also secured a victory over Clearfield, winning 7-3.
Baseball
Chestnut Ridge 7, Penns Valley 6 (9): In New Paris, the Lions scored in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Rams Friday.
Chestnut Ridge tallied a run on Carter Ickes’ sacrifice fly in the seventh to extend the game. Blake Conlon and Ickes (three RBIs) each totaled two hits. Brody Halkovich and Tyler Yatta each doubled. Kole Clark struck out four over four scoreless innings of relief.
Penns Valley received two hits each from Rylan Birge (three stolen bases), Parker Feltenberger and Brayden Kurtz (double).
Richland 7, Clearfield 3: Dom Shank went 3-for-3 with a double and one run batted in, and Braden Yoder and Caden Robertson each had two hits in the host Rams’ win over the Bison.
Ryan Ozog doubled for Richland, which has won four straight games and seven of its past nine.
Clearfield’s Jayce Brothers went 3-for-4, and Landon Brady added two hits. Hayden Rumsky doubled.
Penn Cambria 15, Cambria Heights 5 (5): In Patton, Jace Davison went 3-for-3 with three doubles, three runs and three RBIs as the Panthers beat the host Highlanders.
Evan Latterner had two hits, including a double and three RBIs, Logan Price hit a homer and drove in three runs.
Cambria Heights’ Anthony Swander had two hits and scored a run. Bryce Lewis and Harrison Snyder each doubled for the Highlanders, who scored all five runs in the fourth inning. Snyder drove in three runs.
McConnellsburg 5, Berlin Brothersvalley 3: In Berlin, Reese Alexander and Shaffer Earley each doubled in the top of the fifth to put the Spartans in front against the host Mountaineers.
Cohen Clark doubled, and Joshua Brinton singled as Berlin Brothersvalley tied the game 3-all in the fifth.
But Hoyt Glenn’s run-scoring single in the sixth plated the game-winner.
Levi Leonard, Clark and Logan Karwatsky each had two hits for Berlin.
North Star 13, Harmony 2 (5): In Ferrellton, Max Pristas went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs at the plate, and struck out nine batters over five innings to lead the Cougars, who drew 17 walks in the game, past the Owls.
Noah Lasky drove in three runs, and Brady Meyers plated two. Noah Holcomb drew four walks.
Harmony’s Jacob Pearce tripled and scored a run.
Rockwood 10, Forbes Road 4: In Waterfall, Garrison Hale went 3-for-3 with two walks and five RBIs as the Rockets downed the Cardinals.
Jack Sembower (three RBIs) and Lane Svonavec (two RBIs) each added two knocks. Eli Show scored four runs and stole four bases. Show fanned five batters over 51/3 innings, and Nathan Show pitched the final 12/3 frames and struck out two.
Three Harmony players each drove in a run.
Softball
Windber 10, Richland 3: In Windber, Rylee Baer went 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run, three runs and three RBIs as the Ramblers beat the Rams.
Chestnut Ridge won the game against Penns Valley with a final score of 7-6.
Carter Ickes had three RBIs and Blake Conlon contributed two hits for Chestnut Ridge.
Richland won against Clearfield with a score of 7-3, with Dom Shank going 3-for-3.

Richland’s Ella Dabbs provided three hits. Jenna Jordan and Bella Marguccio (two RBIs) each added two knocks. Marissa Naylor homered and drove in two runs.
Berlin Brothersvalley 16, McConnellsburg 0 (3): In Berlin, Elena Ritchey went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double and eight RBIs as the Mountaineers defeated the Spartans in three innings.
Elsie Barna had two hits, including a two-run homer.
Audra Handke smacked a three-run home run, and Maddie Will had two hits.
For a second straight game, each starter in the Mountaineers lineup collected at least one hit despite having only two innings at the plate.
Central Cambria 15, River Valley 1 (5): In Blairsville, Rowyn Ruddek and Hayden Turner (two RBIs) each provided three hits as the Red Devils defeated the Panthers.
Katie Scott added two knocks, including a double, and four RBIs. Camryn Matlin (three RBIs) and Ella Neves each posted two hits. Ruddek gave up two hits and struck out six over five innings.

Cambria Heights 16, Penn Cambria 0 (3): In Cresson, the Highlanders tallied 10 runs in the top of the first to roll past the Panthers.
Cambria Heights scored 47 runs in its past three games, including 16 in each of the past two contests. The Highlanders have allowed only two runs in that three-game span.
Hallie Hayes had three hits, including a double, and Rylee Lane and Margaret Elias each had two hits for Cambria Heights. Lane doubled twice and drove in three runs.

Conemaugh Valley 12, Northern Cambria 1 (5): Maddie Beiter fanned five and allowed one unearned run in the circle, and added two hits and two RBIs at the plate as the Blue Jays conquered the Colts.
Laine Poborski finished 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Megan Bilak (triple, two RBIs), Madison McCleester and Danilee Toth (two RBIs) each added two hits. Gwen Masser plated two runs.
Three different Northern Cambria players singled.
