UCLA Bruins hold off Michigan State Spartans for a 4-3 win!

Central Cambria defeated Tyrone 13-12 in a thrilling 9-inning softball game, highlighted by Kaydence Sinclair's walk-off single. Shade-Shanksville also won against North Star, 12-8.
Softball
Central Cambria 13, Tyrone 12 (9): In Ebensburg, Kaydence Sinclair delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Red Devils downed the Golden Eagles Friday.
Sinclair finished with four hits, including a homer, and four RRBIs. Camryn Matlin added two knocks, including a homer, and four RBIs. Katie Scott, who collected the 100th hit of her career this past week, supplied two knocks. Rowyn Ruddek doubled and drove in three runs.
Tyrone’s Madison Harper and Kaitlyn Rockwell (homer, double, two RBIs) each totaled three hits. Lucy Fogleman (homer, three RBIs), Sage Harris (two RBIs), Aly McNelis (double) and Amariah Sprankle totaled two hits apiece.
Shade-Shanksville 12, North Star 8: In Ferrellton, Patty Kovacs, Hayden Maddy and Payton Maddy each supplied three hits as the Panthers downed the Cougars.
Payton Maddy drove in five runs, and Hayden Maddy homered and plated three runs. Tori Bowers doubled among her two knocks. Katy Kovacs added two hits. Payton Maddy struck out eight batters in the circle.
Shade-Shanksville scored in six of the seven innings.
North Star’s Peyton Smeak tallied three hits. Morgan Snyder chipped in two knocks. Sydney Lasure homered and drove in two runs. Lexi Swanson plated two runs.
Westmont Hilltop 8, Central 4: Kylie Sweeney was 2-for-3 with a home run, and Bella Kist and Kelsie Muto each drove in two runs to lead the host Hilltoppers by the Scarlet Dragons.
Kist homered, and Muto tripled. Sarah Gibbons doubled. Abby Rozich struck out nine batters over 6 1/3 innings.
Central’s Kailyn Gahagan went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs. Hailey Fries doubled and drove in a run.
Bishop Guilfoyle Academy 15, Bishop Carroll Catholic 4 (5): In Ebensburg, Kiera Ronan tallied two hits and two RBIs to lead the Marauders past the Huskies.
Leah Byrne plated two runs as Bishop Guilfoyle scored seven runs in the second inning and eight more in the fifth.
Bishop Carroll’s Hannah Strittmatter homered and drove in three runs. Elaina Smith doubled.
Purchase Line 14, Conemaugh Township 0 (5): In Davidsville, Rylee Mahaffey struck out 12 batters in a one-hit shutout, and added two hits and two RBIs at the plate to propel the Red Dragons by the Indians.
Kiley Himes (two hits, three RBIs) and Mahaffey each doubled.
Conemaugh Township’s Addi Lasure singled.

Friday
North Star 10, Rockwood 7: In Ferrellton, the Cougars tallied eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat the Rockets.
Noah Holcomb went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Five different Cougars drove in one run apiece.
Max Pristas fanned eight over six innings.
Rockwood’s Garrison Hale (three RBIs) and Eli Show (two stolen bases) each went 3-for-4.
Show and Christian Tylka each doubled. Nathan Show struck out seven in four frames.
Bishop McCort Catholic 5, Philipsburg-Osceola 3: Erik Radkowski delivered a three-run double when the Crimson Crusher scraped four runners across in the third inning as the hosts beat the Mounties.
Rocco Fetzko and Angelo Gallucci each added one hit.
Philipsburg-Osceola’s Archer Baughman totaled two runs and two hits. Parker Lamb added two knocks.
Windber 14, Conemaugh Valley 8: Cole Mash (three stolen bases) and Colton Woodruff each supplied two hits, including a double, as the Ramblers topped the host Blue Jays.
Dylan Woodruff homered, and Dalton Strick doubled and drove in two runs. Colton Blackburn and Lucas Rummel each doubled. Ike Serenko scored three runs.
Windber scored six runs in the sixth inning to lead 12-4.
Conemaugh Valley’s Nate Stiffler tallied three hits, including a home run. Hunter Blough (double, two RBIs) and Joey Toth each added two knocks.
Donald Brown homered and drove in three runs.
Central 17, Westmont Hilltop 6: Wyatt Dilling (two RBIs) and Troy McNichol each contributed three hits, including a double, to lead the Scarlet Dragons past the host Hilltoppers.
Cody Clapper tripled among his two hits and drove in four runs. JJ Mouslian, Jesse Muthler and Colton Porecca each added two knocks and two RBIs. Mason Sparks (two RBIs) fanned nine batters over 42/3 innings.
Westmont Hilltop’s Dominic Chiodo went 3-for-4. Brady Gartner added two hits and four RBIs. Sully Weir and Jack Wesner each netted two knocks.
Justin Ray doubled.
Marion Center 11, Cambria Heights 2: In Patton, Tyler Phillips (two doubles) and Troy Slovinski each provided three hits as the Stingers beat the Highlanders.
Slovinsky scored five runs and drove in three. Phillips plated two runs. Trent Slovinsky drove in three runs. Camden Rising, who doubled at the plate, allowed one run in six innings.
Cambria Heights’ Nolan Clawson doubled and drove in two runs.
Thursday
Cambria Heights 8, Northern Cambria 6 (9): In Ebensburg, the Highlanders scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to dispatch the Colts.
Cambria Heights scored four runs between the sixth and seventh innings to lead 6-5, but Northern Cambria tallied one in the bottom of the seventh to extend the game.
Anthony Swander led Cambria Heights with three hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Bryce Lewis doubled twice and drove in three runs, and Harrison Snyder doubled among his two knocks and plated three runs. Carson Lobick chipped in two knocks.
Nolan Clawson doubled.
Lobick fanned five over 22/3 innings, and Clawson struck out three in three shutout frames.
Northern Cambria’s Zak Kirsch was 4-for-4 with a double and two runs. Brady Hoover and Parker Shutty each added two hits. Reese Wagner tripled, and Levi Czar drove in two runs. Wagner struck out seven batters in 42/3 innings.
Central Cambria won the game against Tyrone with a final score of 13-12.
