Scottie Scheffler was annoyed by a reporterâs question in his interview after the third round at The Masters.
Scheffler should have been in a fantastic mood after carding a seven-under-par 65 to move into the top 10 on the leaderboard.
With Rory McIlroy struggling out in front, the world number one now has a realistic chance of winning his third Green Jacket.
However, Scheffler reacted strangely to an ordinary question about whether his score could have been lower.
Schefflerâs approach play was so good on Saturday that he might have made even more birdies.
The 29-year-old missed a few good opportunities to close the gap to the leaders to just one or two strokes.
Therefore, he was asked what his score would have been if he had taken those chances, but he refused to answer.
âThatâs just a terrible question,â Scheffler replied. âNext question. Awful.â
Given the bluntness of his response, one could assume he was joking, but the footage shows he was clearly annoyed with the journalist.
For a player whose best attribute might be his unshakable temperament, his reaction was completely unexpected and unnecessary.
Scheffler then backtracked slightly, admitting that his putting was not quite at the same level as his iron play in the third round.
âYeah, I hit it really nice today,â he continued. âI felt very sharp with the irons. Got it up there. Gave myself a lot of opportunities.

âI felt like I took advantage of those on the front nine, and then back nine, I did a lot of good things. Was really, really close to seeing a lot go inâŠ
âI guess to answer your question, it wasnât maybe that bad, but it definitely could have been lower. But as I said, I did what I needed to do.
âWent out and executed to give myself some opportunities, and more of that tomorrow, and I think Iâll be in a good spot.â
Scheffler now knows that another 65 on Sunday at Augusta is likely to be enough to win the tournament for the third time.
