The South Dakota State women's golf team won their first Summit League Championship, finishing with a total score of 882 (+30). Senior McKenzie Mages earned individual medalist honors with a score of 212 (-1).
MESA, AZ (SDSU) â Powered by an individual championship victory by senior McKenzie Mages, the South Dakota State womenâs golf team won the first Summit League team championship in program history Tuesday at Longbow Golf Club.
The Jackrabbits finished the week with a three-round total of 882 (+30) to edge Denver by six strokes. SDSU is just the fourth team to win the league title, joining Oral Roberts (15), North Dakota State (1) and Denver (10). The Pioneers entered the championship having won six consecutive titles and 10 of the last 11.
Mages carded a 212 (-1) to earn medalist honors. The Sioux Falls native took a commanding lead over the field with a 68 on round two, then was steady with an even-par 71 Tuesday to collect SDSUâs third overall conference individual title and first since 2021 (Teresa Toscano).
All five Jackrabbits finished inside the top 25 at the Championship. Hannah Boraas tied for seventh place with a +10 final tally. Riko Danjo tied for 17th place, Molly OâHara finished in a tie for 20th and  tied for 24th place.
The SDSU women's golf team finished with a total score of 882 (+30).
Senior McKenzie Mages won the individual championship with a score of 212 (-1).
Only four teams have won the Summit League women's golf title, including SDSU, Oral Roberts, North Dakota State, and Denver.
This victory marked the first Summit League team championship in South Dakota State's program history.

Denver posted the best round of the day with a 288 (+4), trimming a 16-stroke deficit to six (888; +36) and moving past Oral Roberts to secure second place. Oral Roberts remained in the mix throughout and secured third at 890 (+38). North Dakota State followed in fourth at 895 (+43). The middle of the leaderboards saw plenty of movement in the final round. South Dakota climbed into fifth at 903 (+51) and St. Thomas took sixth at 909 (+57). Omaha (914; +62) and North Dakota (953; +101) rounded out the standings.

The Jackrabbits advance to the NCAA womenâs golf championship for the first time in program history. The field will be announced on the Golf Channel on Wednesday, April 29 at 3 p.m. CT with qualifiers split into six regional sites. The tournament championship will begin on Friday, May 22 and continue through Wednesday, May 27 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. The players will complete 54 holes of stroke play, and then the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team competing for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match play competition and the 72-hole stroke play individual champion. The top eight teams then compete in match play for the team national championship to be decided May 27.
