Seahawks 2026 season projection: DeMarcus Lawrence to record 10 sacks

Seattle Seahawks linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence was a force to be reckoned with in 2025.

Lawrence recorded six sacks last season. The former second-team All-Pro honoree also added three forced fumbles on the year. Lawrence helped form a superb pass rush in Seattle in 2025 that catalyzed its run to the Super Bowl, which culminated in a victory over the New England Patriots at the end of the season.

The South Carolina native was able to shine among other standout performers on the edge last season including Derick Hall and Boye Mafe. Lawrence also had All-Pro support on the interior defensive line from Leonard Williams, who wreaked havoc in 2025 with seven sacks. The same was true for Byron Murphy, who matched Williams in sacks.

The Seahawks will have Williams, Murphy, Hall and most of their other key contributors on defense returning in 2026, which will make life easier for Lawrence to have a direct lane to the quarterback.

Despite approaching his age-34 season, Lawrence still possessed the explosiveness to record another double-digit sacks season in 2026, and that what he projects to do in this forecast with 10 sacks recorded next season.
