The Seattle Seahawks made the bold decision to draft a running back in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price No. 32 overall.
He will compete for a starting spot this season with Kenneth Walker in Kansas City, and Zach Charbonnet is likely to miss a lot of time due to an ACL tear recovery.
There's reason for excitement, as ESPN's Matt Bowen noted that Price is a great fit with the Seahawks offense, thanks to the new offensive coordinator utilizing run schemes that work well with Price.
"(Brian) Fluery worked under Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco, meaning the wide zone run game will be a foundational scheme," Bowen writes. "Price should fit well with that, as he has the vision and lower- body control to stretch the edges or puncture the interior gaps."
The Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price due to his fit with their offensive schemes and the need for a running back after Zach Charbonnet's injury.
Jadarian Price will compete for the starting spot with Kenneth Walker, as Zach Charbonnet is likely to miss significant time due to an ACL tear.
Jadarian Price is considered a good fit for the Seahawks' offense because the new offensive coordinator employs run schemes that align well with his playing style.

While that's reason to get excited about Price in his rookie season, there is still one big issue, beyond Price's playing time, that is cause for concern: his receiving ability.
The Seahawks don't need Price to be an every-down running back, but they will need him to factor into the offense in more than just the running game.
Pass protection is a big issue, and something the Seahawks will have to hope Price can be good at right away. But, beyond pass protection, Price also will need to prove he's a capable receiver.
Across three seasons at the college level, Price only caught 15 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns. This past season, he caught six passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
To truly be a great fit in the Seahawks offense, Price will need to display some receiving upside. If his college production is a sign of things to come, it might be a bit worse of a fit than previously anticipated.
The running game should be a good fit for Price, but Seattle needs him to be more than just a runner, especially since they used a first-round pick on him.
Until he showcases receiving ability, there will be concerns about Price's fit with the Seahawks offense this upcoming season.
