The Seattle Seahawksâ reliable quarterback play and run game were integral to the franchiseâs Super Bowl-winning 2025-26 campaign.
That said, it also helped that Seattle possessed a top-10 defense, surrendering 193.9 passing yards and 91.9 rushing yards per game. With the offseason in full swing, it goes without saying that the Seahawks want to continue bolstering that side of the ball to improve their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions in 2026-27.
According to a recent trade rumor involving the Seahawks, the franchise has expressed interest in the Cleveland Brownsâ historic two-time Defensive Player of the Year (he broke the all-time single-season sack record last season).
âAccording to a source close to the#Seahawks, GM John Schneider spoke with Browns GM Andrew Berry about the possibility of trading for DE Myles Garrett,â Seahawks Foreverâs Dan Viens reported Friday. âThe source added it was a âserious inquiry,â but a trade isn't imminent.â
Garrettâs refusal to participate in the Brownsâ offseason program has many speculating about what could be behind the five-time All-Pro Defensive endâs surprising decision.
The future Hall of Famer inked a four-year, $160 million contract extension with Cleveland in March and is expected to be a key contributor on the organizationâs 2026-27 squad.
Still, that didnât stop Seattle from inquiring about arguably the most dominant pass rusher in football, and with the Seahawks coming off a Super Bowl victory, it isnât too far-fetched an idea.
Itâs unlikely the Browns will move on from Garrett anytime soon, though, which should help Seattle refrain from getting its hopes up.
