Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jalen Milroe, drafted 92nd overall in 2025, is a key player to watch this offseason. He showed potential as a dual-threat player but needs to improve ball security after fumbling three times last season.
There are a number of young Seattle Seahawks players worth monitoring this offseason as the team prepares for its various phases of summer work (OTAs and training camp). One that will probably draw a lot of attention is sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe. Will Milroe show Year Two growth?
Seahawks general manager John Schneider used the 92nd selection in the 2025 NFL draft on Milroe. The former Alabama standout was described as an athletic playmaker, but raw passer. That was evident throughout the preseason.
Milroe appeared in all three of Seattle's exhibition games. He completed 22 of 39 passing attempts (56.4%) for 255 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. The dual-threat Milroe also rushed for 87 yards, but fumbled three times.
The Seahawks attempted to utilize Milroe's dual-threat ability during the NFL regular season. He rushed three times for four yards and lost a fumble. Improved ball security must play a major role in Milroe's offseason growth. Milroe wasn't seen again, and the Seahawks won Super Bowl LX with Sam Darold as their quarterback.
Darnold is back to help the Seahawks defend their title. Drew Lock remains on the roster as a pro-ready backup quarterback. Reps and opportunities will be difficult for Milroe to come back. He must show offseason improvement to convince Macdonald he's grown as a quarterback.
