Seahawks rushing scheme expected to propel Jadarian Price forward

The Seattle Seahawks entered the 2026 NFL Draft needing to replace Super Bowl 60-winning MVP Kenneth Walker III. General manager John Schneider found the perfect fit at No. 32 overall by selecting former Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price. Price projects as an excellent scheme fit in Brian Fleury's new offense.

Fleury is expected to run an iteration of the outside zone-based scheme that Klint Kubiak ran last season. After all, Fleury, like Kubiak did, partially learned the trade from San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. Arguably the biggest proponent of the zone-based trend in the NFL, both Kubiak and Fleury worked under Shanahan before joining the Seahawks.

Fleury will bring fresh ideas and new concepts, but don't expect the Seahawks' 2026 offense to stray too far from outside zone. It's a system Price is familiar with. Better yet, his vision and acceleration are designed to thrive in zone-based concepts.

“That’s his love language, to put him in outside zone, to stretch, puncture,” Price's former position coach Ja’Juan Seider recently said. “Putting him in outside zone is going to be scary. That’s a great (match) for him.”

Price will be a perfect fit for Fleury's offense.
