Seattle Seahawks 2026 NFL schedule hits historical mark

The NFL released the 2026 schedule, and the buzz has been electric. Teams, fans, and media outlets have already dissected every matchup and storyline.

Beyond the early predictions, several intriguing scheduling quirks have emerged. Most notably, the defending champion Seattle Seahawks received a historic slate unlike anything seen since 2020.

Seattle is currently scheduled to play on six of the seven days of the week. The only day absent from the Seahawks’ schedule is Tuesday.

The Seahawks’ Wednesday appearance will come in the season opener, when they host the New England Patriots. Their Friday game arrives in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas Day, just one week after a Saturday matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The last team to approach this type of scheduling anomaly came during the 2020 season. That year, the Baltimore Ravens played games on five of the seven days of the week across the regular season and playoffs.

Of course, the 2020 season unfolded under chaotic circumstances, with postponements, rescheduled games, and a canceled preseason due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures implemented by the NFL and NFLPA.
