Shilo Sanders, the brother of former Colorado star quarterback Shedeur, made headlines earlier this week for all the wrong reasons.
Sanders didnât hesitate to send a harsh five-word message to Cleveland Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot after she urged the franchise to anoint Deshaun Sanders as quarterback No. 1 for the start of the 2026-27 season instead of Shedeur.
âGo make a sandwich, Mary,â Sanders said on Instagram.
While many expected Sanders to issue a public apology to Cabot, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety opted for a different approach. Sanders doubled down on his outlandish remark with a wild accusation about Cabot and her reporting.
"If you're gonna be a reporter, be a reporter and report facts," Sanders said his Twitch channel. "Whenever you have your opinion, and your opinion is always something hateful to Shedeur, then it makes it seem like it's something weird. Like it's an agenda that you have going on."
Shilo Sanders told Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot to 'go make a sandwich' in response to her comments about his brother.
Shilo Sanders' brother is Shedeur Sanders, a former star quarterback at Colorado.
The reporter suggested that the Cleveland Browns should not make Shedeur Sanders their starting quarterback for the 2026-27 season.

"And there's plenty of women in this field that take this serious and take reporting football serious and actually do homework and study the game and get the statistics right and get the news right.â
âBut with you it's so much emotion that I don't want you to make women look bad when it comes to reporting, because you don't have the will to actually want to report real things that are going on.â
Essentially, without any concrete evidence, Sanders is accusing Cabot of pushing an agenda against his younger brother during the offseason. It doesnât take a genius to comprehend how preposterous Sandersâ comments are.
Cabot simply stated that, based on the current state of the Browns and her assessment of Watson and Sanders, the more experienced and proven signal-caller should get the nod. Suggesting that the respected reporter has something personal against Sanders is without a doubt an out-of-bounds accusation, considering sheâs wisely weighing in on Clevelandâs ongoing quarterback battle.
Perhaps the 26-year-old will change his stance on Cabot at some point, but it doesnât appear likely to occur anytime soon.
