A day later, Cabot, the 2025 Bill Nunn Memorial Award winner, called into 92.3 The Fan, and took the high road in her response, choosing to focus not on Shilo's misogynistic comment but on her own achievements and impact on football.
"Well, let me just say about that, that I really do believe that I've been an inspiration for lots of women and young girls to know that you can go out there and do a good job in a man's world and take on all of that that comes with that," Cabot told the radio host.
She continued, "And I know that there are so many women who have joined the football world, especially because of things I've been able to do over the years, and I'm happy about that and I know that will continue."
"I have been able to set the tone and open some doors in that way and that will continue," Cabot concluded.
In a reply on X to Cabot's response, one user said, "Not a good look for Shilo. I don't agree with a lot of what Mary says but that's not cool and his brother has to deal with what he said. Let your brother worry about football not a bad tweet."

Another user dissed Shilo, writing, "Shouldn't he make the sandwich, she currently HAS a job," a sentiment echoed by another account who said, "Shilo wishes he had the career of Mary Kay."
On Thursday afternoon, Shilo responded harshly back to Cabot on a Twitch livestream.
"This is to Mary Kay. If you're gonna be a reporter, be a reporter and report facts," he said, claiming that Cabot's "opinion is always something hateful to Shedeur."
"It makes it seem like something weird, like, it's an agenda you have going on," Shilo continued, next addressing Cabot's topic of women in sports.

Shilo said there are "plenty of women" reporting sports "that take reporting football serious and actually do homework," while accusing Cabot of instilling "so much emotion" into her reporting. "I don't want you to make women look bad when it comes to reporting because you don't have the will to actually want to report real things that are going on," Shilo continued.
"Let Shedeur go practice. He don't need to be going on Instagram and Twitter and stuff and always just seeing you bad mouth him," Shilo continued. "That's what I got a problem with."
Shilo is the son of Colorado Buffaloes head coach and former NFL star Deion Sanders, who is also dad to Deiondra, Deion Jr., Shedeur, and Shelomi.
