UFC BJJ 8 will have a new title bout set, after former ADCC champ Bianca Basilio had to undergo surgery and pull out of the co-main event slot.

The two-time IBJJF world champion in Basilio was originally supposed to get a title shot on May 21, but the reigning UFC BJJ bantamweight queen Cassia Moura now has a new opponent set. Stepping up on short notice with just a little over a week before UFC BJJ 8 event is Sabrina Gondim.

Gondim, 27, recently took bronze at the 2026 IBJJF Pans, dropping a match to the top pound-for-pound champion in Sarah Galvao. She will have an uphill battle on this short notice bout, facing a champion like Moura, who has been on a tear as of late.

Moura beat ADCC champ Ffion Davies at UFC BJJ 6 to win the bantamweight title, and before that, she won her second IBJJF No Gi World title a whopping four divisions higher at heavyweight.

UFC BJJ 8 will be headlined by the promotion’s biggest star in Mikey Musumeci, although he will be in a bit of an underwhelming match up on this event. BJJ personalities previously criticized UFC BJJ’s matchmaking, and while Musumeci did beat an IBJJF world champion on his last title defense, he now faces another unheralded opponent.

Musumeci faces Kevin Dantzler, who is a fairly talented pro grappler, but has yet to win a major title in his career and mostly competes in smaller organizations.
