The St. Clair County Community College Skippers track teams ended their seasons on a high note, with several athletes achieving personal records and one qualifying for a national championship at the Hillsdale College Tune-Up on April 25, according to a community announcement.
The women's team members all ran a personal or season record to close out the season, with Brynn Hurley qualifying for the NJCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field National Championship.
Lillian Rutallie started the day for the Skippers by running the 1,500 meters. She placed fifth overall, finishing less than a second off her personal record with a time of 5:02.31.
Lauren Fowler set a personal record in the 400 meters, running 1:05.66 and taking just more than 3 seconds off her previous best. Fowler now ranks as the No. 2 Skipper on the Outdoor Track Top 10 record board.
Brynn Hurley qualified for the NJCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field National Championship.
The women's team members all achieved personal or season records, including Lauren Fowler and Kate Bennett.
The championships will take place from May 14-16 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Donte Fenderson set a lifetime best of 11.05 in the 100 meters, and Ryan Jakins recorded a personal best of 16:41.71 in the 5,000 meters.
