The 31-year-old is only one assist away from equaling Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s shared record in one Premier League campaign (20 assists), while his influence on the team goes well beyond the numbers.
Despite his immeasurable importance to the cause, Bruno’s future at Man Utd has often been put in question, as suitors from all around the globe have constantly tried to lure him away from Carrington.
Last summer, Fernandes seriously considered a move to Al-Hilal, who were prepared to shower him with gold. But after weeks of negotiations and reflections, he and his family chose to stay at United.
With one year remaining on his MUFC contract, one would imagine similar scenarios occurring throughout the summer. Several Saudi Pro League clubs have been tipped to try again.

But according to Sky Sport DE correspondent Florian Plettenberg, the playmaker has another serious admirer in Galatasaray, who are keen to bolster their already-impressive ranks with a top-notch playmaker, as well as a holding midfielder.
“Galatasaray want to make headlines again with spectacular transfers in the summer. The focus is primarily on a No. 10 and a No. 6,” posted the German journalist on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
“Gala were already interested in Bruno Fernandes in the last transfer window. He was and still is the ultimate dream target.”
Nevertheless, Plettenberg doesn’t expect Fernandes to be on the move this summer, especially with Man Utd securing Champions League football.
“They want to get in contact with his camp again, but do not see realistic chances, as Fernandes can play Champions League football with Manchester United”
Since joining the club in 2020, Fernandes has proved to be an ‘exceptional’ player and a shining light during one of Man Utd’s darkest periods.
The Portuguese international was happy to stick around even when the grass seemed greener elsewhere. Therefore, it would be difficult to imagine him leaving now that United are finally beginning to see the light at the end of the dark tunnel.
The midfielder’s expiring contract in 2027 might be the elephant in the room, and some club directors might be tempted to seize what should be the final opportunity to cash in on the player.
However, Bruno’s impact on and off the pitch remains essential for the club, so his departure could jeopardise the whole revival under Michael Carrick, especially with Casemiro leaving as well.
Therefore, the sporting aspect must prevail this time, and as long as Fernandes wants to play his football at Old Trafford, INEOS should be happy to accommodate him.
