MADISON – It’s not the Big Apple, but Skyler Bell won’t have to leave his home state of New York as he begins his NFL career.

Buffalo selected the UConn receiver with the 25th pick (125th overall) of the fourth round of the NFL draft April 25. Bell, who is from the Bronx in New York City, played his first two seasons with Wisconsin.

He is the third UConn receiver to be drafted. Geremy Davis was taken by the New York Giants in 2015 and Marcus Easley was selected by Buffalo in 2010.

He was a first-team All-American (Associated Press) and a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver.
