Smylie Kaufman predicts if Adam Scott will ever win another major before retiring from golf

Adam Scott is still out there competing at the top of the PGA Tour at the age of 45.

Justin Rose, rightly, gets the plaudits for what he’s able to do at the same age, winning on the PGA Tour and fighting for majors, and that’s taken some shine away from his Australian competitor.

Since turning 40, he’s never had fewer than five top 20s in a season, and he’s already had three top-five finishes in 2026. Scott finished T4 at the Cadillac Championship at Doral in his most recent start, continuing to impress heading into the PGA Championship.

Despite this, Scott hasn’t won since 2020, and the former world number one has just one major to his name, the 2013 Masters. Will he win another? Golf analyst Smylie Kauffman gave his verdict.

Smylie Kauffman tips Adam Scott to win another major before he retires

After Scott’s top five at the Cadillac Championship, Kauffman sang the praises of the “fine wine”, and said he thinks he’ll win another major before it’s all said and done.

Speaking on The Smylie Show, he said, “This guy, we always say, ages like a fine wine. Nothing truer than with that gentleman, Adam Scott.

“Just continues to be able to compete at 45 years old, has all the pop in the bat, can get 190 comfortably on the range, which is just insane. I don’t think he’s done winning.

“I think he’s going to have a swan song. He’s going to win one more major championship. I think he’s totally capable of doing it. He’s already finished second at Riviera this year, or I should say I think it was third.

“I think he’s finished top three twice. But all to say is that yes, he got off to a poor start and played some tremendous golf the rest of the way.”
