We have the first change at the top in this week’s Courier-Post South Jersey Mean 15 baseball rankings.
Gloucester Catholic has moved from No. 2 to No. 1. The Rams replaced Northern Burlington, which lost its first game of the season, 9-5, to Haddonfield.
With the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic entering its second round on Saturday, the tournament will be mentioned prominently in this week’s Mean 15 and probably for the next couple of weeks.

1, Gloucester Catholic (15-3, last week’s ranking, No. 2). The Rams won their eighth straight game with Wednesday’s 5-1 victory over Sterling in the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic. Seeded No. 1 in the Diamond Classic, the Rams meet 13th seeded Vineland in Saturday’s 1 p.m. second-round game at Clearview.
2. St. Augustine (14-4, 4). The Hermits played just one game during the last week, beating Woodstown, 13-3, in a Diamond Classic first-round game. Senior Hank Biglin went 2-for-2 with a run scored and three RBIs. Next up in the Diamond is Saturday’s 10 a.m. home game against Delsea.
3. Bishop Eustace (17-3, 5). The Crusaders won their 12th consecutive game with Wednesday’s 15-3 win at Moorestown. Senior first baseman Mason Rosenberg is batting .436 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs. The Crusaders’ second-round Diamond Classic game is 1 p.m. Saturday against Mainland at St. Augustine.

4. Haddonfield (15-3, 14). The Bulldogs are on a heater, having won 10 in a row following Wednesday’s 7-1 opening Diamond Classic win against Williamstown. Included in this streak was Monday’s 9-5 win over previously unbeaten and former No. 1 Northern Burlington. Shortstop Dan Keenan was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Haddonfield takes on Kingsway in Saturday’s 1 p.m. Diamond Classic second-round game at Pop Lloyd Stadium in Atlantic City.
5. Northern Burlington (16-1, 1). The Greyhounds bounced back from their loss to Haddonfield to defeat Hopewell Valley, 5-4 on Wednesday. Rutgers commit Cole Marchetti is batting .540 with four home runs and 19 RBIs and is 5-0 with a 0.75 ERA. On Friday, the Greyhounds will host Paul VI, in a 3 p.m. opening-round Diamond Classic game.
6. Cherry Hill West (16-2, 3). After winning its first 14 games of the season, the Lions then dropped consecutive games to Shawnee, 12-2 and Bishop Eustace, 8-1. West rebounded with a first round 8-4 win over Pennsville in the Diamond Classic as James Miller earned the win, allowing two earned runs in 5.1 innings. The Lions then added Wednesday’s 14-0 win over Camden Catholic. Cherry Hill West’s second-round Diamond Classic game is 1 p.m. Saturday when the Lions meet Egg Harbor Township at Pitman’s Alcyon Park.
7. Kingsway (14-3, 8). The Dragons have won 11 of their last 12 games following Wednesday’s 11-0 win over St. Joseph Hammonton in an opening Diamond Classic game. Senior Jake Mangifesta is 4-0 with a 1.64 ERA. Kingsway’s second-round Diamond Classic game is 1 p.m. Saturday against Haddonfield at Atlantic City’s Pop Lloyd Stadium.
8. Mainland (11-4, 9). After splitting two games with Cedar Creek and losing to North Jersey’s St. Peter’s Prep, Mainland beat Moorestown, 2-1 in an opening Diamond Classic game, behind winning pitcher Will Hickman. The Mustangs meet Bishop Eustace in Saturday’s 1 p.m. Diamond Classic second-round game at St. Augustine.
9. Clearview (13-4, 7). A 3-2 week included wins over Schalick, Vineland and GCIT and losses to Washington Township and Kingsway. During Monday’s 4-0 win over Vineland, Braeden Cook pitched the first four innings to earn the win. Clearview hosts Schalick in Saturday’s second-round Diamond Classic game at 10 a.m.
10. Vineland (14-7, 12). The Fighting Clan beat Egg Harbor Township, 4-3, lost to Clearview, 4-0 and bounced back with a 17-4 first round Diamond Classic win over Shawnee as Valin Townsend went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs. On Saturday Vineland takes on Gloucester Catholic in a 1 p.m. Diamond Classic second-round game at Clearview.
11. Shawnee (12-7, 10). Shawnee played four straight games against ranked teams, losing 4-3 to Haddonfield, then beating Cherry Hill West, 12-2 and Eastern, 1-0 before losing to Vineland, 17-4 in a Diamond Classic first round game. In the 1-0 win over Eastern, Tim Dougherty pitched a 1-hitter and coach Brian Anderson earned his 400th career win. The Renegades moved into first place in the Olympic Conference American Division with Wednesday’s 13-1 win over Cherokee in six innings as Lleyton Coughlin hit two home runs and drove in three runs.
12. Haddon Heights (12-2, 11). The Garnets saw their eight-game win streak snapped with Tuesday’s 9-5 loss to Haddonfield in a Colonial Conference Liberty Division showdown. Haddon Heights bounced back with Wednesday’s 6-1 opening Diamond Classic win over Delran as Cole Simon pitched six hitless innings and allowed one unearned run to earn the victory. The Garnets’ second-round Diamond Classic game is 10 a.m. Saturday against Eastern at Pop Lloyd Stadium in Atlantic City.
13. Rancocas Valley (11-7, 13). The Red Devils went 2-1 in Olympic American Games, beating Eastern and Lenape and losing to Cherry Hill East. Rancocas Valley also lost 7-0 to Haddonfield but rebounded with a 10-7 victory over Cedar Creek in an opening Diamond Classic game. The Red Devils will play the Paul VI-Northern Burlington winner in Saturday’s 10 a.m. Diamond Classic second-round game at Alcyon Park.
14. Eastern (11-5, 6). The Vikings lost to ranked teams Rancocas Valley and Shawnee by a total of three runs before exploding for a 20-10 opening Diamond Classic win over Highland. The week ended with Wednesday’s 5-3 loss to Cherry Hill East in an Olympic Conference American Division game. Saturday the Vikings meet Haddon Heights in a 10 a.m. second-round Diamond Classic game at Atlantic City’s Pop Lloyd Stadium.
15. Egg Harbor Township (13-6, NR). The Eagles followed a 4-3 loss to Vineland with a 7-2 win at Pennsauken in an opening Diamond Classic game. The week ended with an 11-1 win at Buena. Senior Chip Clooney is 5-2 with a 2.10 ERA. EHT’s second-round Diamond Classic game is 1 p.m. Saturday against Cherry Hill West at Alcyon Park.
